It comes with all the flaws that are typical of today's SMP reps. (single piece end link, oversized pearl, etched rather than engraved clasp) and the simultaneous release of the Asian and ETA movement models confirms what many of us have suspected for a while now that we are simply getting the same cases with movements swapped these days.

Oh, all the above notwithstanding the completely wrong colour, bezel font and caseback combination, plus the fact the original is awful looking anyway...

Looking at this watch I wonder what the potential customers might be -_- is it only for die hard Bond fans?

I have a similar feeling towards the Olympic watches from Omega and Longines. They look great while the Olympics is going on but looks silly in the periods in between the event :)

I agree...very specialised clientele. Not too my tastes, but hey...Omega think they can get sales so someone must like it!

I am a die-hard Bond fan, and I'd never wear one of these. It only interests me insofar as I despair at the thought that Omega marketing people know there are folks out there who will want one and buy it, and those people want to associate with the Bond thing.

I wasn't too keen on the 40th Anniversary 10007 model SMP either* - I'd rather have the actual watches as worn in the movies than something carrying the trademarks!

(*I'd still kill for one of the 2892 based reps though - if only to transplant the face of my 2824 SMP into...)

PS. This watch is about as far removed as you can get from any of the models that will feature in the movie 'Casino Royale' being released on November 17th.

Correct watches are the 45mm black Planet Ocean with rubber strap, and the blue Seamaster Pro 300m GMT model.
