Seamaster James Bond L.E. : new field for me

Hi,

while raising funds to get the latest Aquaracer Tag Heuer, I'm looking for my new inexpensive aquisition in the meantime and found the Seamaster James Bond 007 L.E. to fit with my tastes :)

I looked around a bit on the boards and it seems there are several variations.

The one which looks good to me as a watch is this one.

No record of it on TheWatchquote or the Official Website.

I saw also mainly discussions about the blue one, that has a white datewheel.

Although the exact compliance to the gen is never the main concern for me, and the fact that the feeling as a watch is the first factor of choice, I'd like to know your opinions on the described model as well as your comments on my questions :

- is this a pure fantasy watch ?

- does it actually exist in black ?

- which colour should the datewheel have ?

- are there huge flaws that scream fake, except the logo, which never seem to be correctly replicated

Thx for your attention and advice.

As far as I know, the genuine version only comes in blue. Happy to be proven wrong on that though... Something I would say, in favor of the blue Omegas, is, in low light, it looks black anyway, but, when it catches direct light, is a gorgeous blue. Way more interesting than black, which only ever appears as, well, black... Best of luck with your purchase :)

There we have the blue.

It's true I miss some blue in my collection, I agree on the reflection on non white/black dials (see my brown SLR). I'm just concerned about how the back looks like on this one. I try to avoid laser etching which often looks poor. I'll get in touch with the seller. The swirl is very marked too.

Thx Andy. I checked indeed on an other pic, and right, it's silver, but not that thick, as you mentioned.

Here's the pic I'm refering to.

You've been more successful than me on Omega's website !

My personal taste tells me black. All the rest tells me blue. :)

Found a better pearl, and apparently better datefont.

Thanks all, for the advice and also for pointing out the flaws.

Well, I knew this was a fantasy edition, but the 80 dollars paid and the all black dial/datewheel made me go for it at the end... And I must say I'm glad with this choice.

A new field for me, which I never thought to go to some time ago.

Some words about this purchase : the watch came pretty dirty, it seems this sometimes happen especially for reps with SS bracelets. Some WD-40 and wax later, the matter was solved.

You'll see the bezel is not perfectly aligned, and neither is the pearl. The crystal says "sapphire" after the water drop test. The bracelet and clasp feel really robust and the engravings are nicely deep, as I like : no laser etching.

Overall a good value for money, nice toy for someone who is not looking for a faithful replication. That let me own a type of rep I would never have bought for 250+...

Here's my favorite part : shooting ! :D

BTW, these were my first shots with my new polarizing filter. @Pug, if you read me, I did not need to adjust the position of the filter, as this one is a circular polarizer. I don't know the difference with the others, but the result is satisfying for me, although I expected a bit more, especially for the glass surfaces.
