Pam 3646 Vintage with Rolex Dial

rolli

Recommended Posts

here is the pam 3646 vintage with rolex dial:

basic vintage model from andrew,

modification:

new lugs with springbars are worked into the case drilled holes and welded on with laser technology,

springbars for a better strap change ( see picture ),

case tube has been shortened, thereby the crown is closer at the case,

crown got a new spring mechanism for a better screw connection, ( in many cases rep crowns have a bad spring mechanism ),

case surface and plexi slightly reworked with a scrubbing sponge,

for the next step of modification is planned:

to engrave the caseback with pam3646 typical characteristics and to rework the dial with vintage lume in tritium color.

enjoy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :tu:

Rolli-

Looks good. On the engraving on the back you have good flexibility as to what you put on it. The gen 3646 I saw recently had it's caseback engraved simply and elegantly with the owners initials. None of this hand scratched engraving so you do have flexibility. And that watch had the full provenance including who the owner was and pictures of him while in the military wearing it. It was a relief as I really didn't want a nazi inscription on mine and will simply go with initials.

hi theo,

exact 46,8mm

rolli

Rolli.....I thought about getting that model, but it is advertised as 47mm but looks like the same case those first 3646-reps came in....and that was 45-46mm.

Can you do me the favour and meassure it exactly please???

Danke sch

hi archi,

i think so too.

ideas for the caseback are welcome.

thankjs

Excellent mods and creative thinking, Rolli. Absolutely love the springbar idea!

I agree w/ kruzer--no need to pay homage to hitler's navy w/ a unit logo, etc. Initials would be just as historically accurate anyway.
