I finally got in touch with the dealer after 3 weeks of no replies and was told to send it back. Well, mathematically speaking I don't think it's worth it. I have the Silix one that has the correct Omega symbol but not the correct Bezel. I really like it, it's about the same weight as the real one but I can't see myself shelling put another $60 bucks to send it back to China to get it repaired when I can spend that money on my dear wife. Here's where I am at with this watch $269 to purchase and ship, $60 bucks to send it back the first time it broke and now another $60. No way hence my cheaper alternative. Does anyone know the Chinese movement number that is equivalent (and I use that word loosely) to ETA's 2824-2 or 2892-A2. I'm looking to buy from Jules Borel or Ofrei. Thanks in advance. You may need new movement retainer ring. Also, this movement doesn't come cheap. I consider this to be "hi end" chinese movement, looks like a clone of ETA 2892-A2. The current price for an ETA 2824-2 from Borel is $122US (prices on web are out of date and are updated in your cart). Otto Frei is slighlty higher. Registered airmail is $15. Regular airmail is $3.78 (I've done that too with no problem). It's up to your dealer to get it fixed and back to you at no further cost to you. That's how it works here. You pay to ship it back and they pay to fix it and ship it back to you. If an established dealer here is holding you up for EMS shipping or any other costs, let us know as that is what this forum is all about. I've never heard of an established dealer on RWG doing this and it's never been tried on me. jdavis Posted February 15, 2008 Report Share Posted February 15, 2008 Coeuss, if you don't want to cough up the money for an ETA movement, you can easily exchange your ETA for a CN movement with a bit of effort. The DG2813 is the ideal replacement for your ETA 2824-2 and it only costs $16 from Borel. Both are 11.5L in size so it will fit perfectly into your existing spacer ring. I replaced a dead ETA in a Sub with this movement so I know that it fits easily. The difficulty, as others have stated, is that you will need to acquire the hands and black date wheel for the Asian movement. Contact Jay (Silix) and explain what you are doing and what parts that you need to complete the swap. I feel certain that he can ship you a date wheel or overlay as well as the hands. The person I dealt with isn't on this forum but here's their two websites ifashionzone.com, and www.tswisswatches.com . Honestly they were good to deal with and answered emails quickly and they have offered to replace the movement but given the costs associated with sending it there and waiting, its just not worth it. Here's what I was told "you need ship it back to china with usps international express mail , and $35 for re-shipping cost i will exchange a new one to you if you order a new watch, you only need to pay $20 for extra shipping cost."
