Breitling SOSF experts!

Yo people. I'm looking for buy a Breitling SOSF seeing as they're back available now. What I want is a 1:1 to the genuine, or atleast very very close
to the real deal.

I've been chatting with Josh and he claims he's SOSF that he sells, superlumed and all that is 99.99% close to the genuine (ofc, it's not 99.99%, but
from what I think he means is, damn good close).

I'm wondering, if there is anyone else who has such a rep? or, if I should just stick to Josh and buy it from him. I've also been in contact with WatchInternational and she said that she also got a SOSF but she doesn't know if it's like the gen one, and hers doesn't have the B engraved on the bezel as Josh claims to have.

Link to he's product offering: http://www.1-pc8838.com/blsf00088s-steelfish-ssss-white-p-11912.html (link works if you click it twice).

Thanks in advance folks!

Panerai 219 (Luminor Base) from Trusty Time (Andrew)

I recently purchased a Panarai Luminor Base (PN219MRU - Pam 219 M /Lefty > SS/RU Black Asian 6497) from Trusty Time (http://www.yourtrustytime.com).

It was the first time that I bought a Pam replica and I was quite skeptical with regard to the quality of the watch. However, my skepticism was unfounded. The watch is an absolute beauty and it looks just like an original Pam Luminor Base. I really could not tell any difference. This is also true with regard to the weight of the watch. It is very well and solidly crafted.

The watch seems to run very precisely. So far I have not realized noteworthy deviations (Andrew wrote me that the watch may deviate +/-10 sec. per day).

The delivery process went very well. Andrew replied promptly to inquiries and he mailed the watch quickly after payment in a small styrofoam- box. I choose delivery via UK which costs 20 EUR extra but is more secure than direct delivery.

All things considered, it was a very pleasant experience to do business with Trusty Time. And I can really recommend the PN219MRU.

Cheers

Info on deliveries from Josh to Italy?

Hello everyone!
First of all congratulations on this forum - I recently decided to buy a PAM rep, and you people saved me from possible scams )
So I ordered a 029 from Josh, and so far so good. What I am wondering is if anyone has experienced having the watches shipped to Italy through the UK. I tracked it until delivery there, but then was not provided a tracking number from the UK to Italy - is this normal? In past experience, how long does delivery from there take?
Thanks in advance if anyone can shed some light on this!

Zig Lume .. 3 years down the road.

Here's a total darkness iphone camera shot of my DSSD with (almost) 3yr old Zigmeister lume, taken last night. Notice it's less than a 1 second exposure (no seconds hand movement) so it's not some lame time-exposure to make the lume look better than it really is.

Also, notice the red circle I've drawn on the image; I had to replace a cracked ceramic bezel on this DSSD, and replaced it with a NoobFactory stock bezel and insert, so unfortunately the pearl is no longer Zig-lumed.. This is how standard replica lume looks against SuperLuminova from Zigmeister.
I had one land on my bench today, for a motor overhaul.
The early model motor did one revolution/minute...exactly!
That top rack of balls is 1 per minute for 5 minutes, it then tips to the next level which is 12 lots of 5 minutes = 1 hour, and down to 12 hours.
Then start again. 29 balls required.
They are a most intriguing "toy"
then I saw the buckle, and bingo confirmed a Patek Philipe
now, I know this is a very expensive watch!
about an hour later I introduced myself and then said "thats a bloody fantastic watch, you've got there" and he said, yeah, its a $20 chinese one!
I smiled and said, "you know the real thing is about half a million bucks?"

which white faced chrono?

Hi there,

I need a new white faced chrono to add to my collection, exchange rate $0.82NZ makes buying both watches way too much!

Which way should a boy go? Panerai 188 H Daylite SS/LE White or AP ROO Safari with leather???? Love the look of both.

As any new noob should do, I have been reading through the RWG files. The ROO movement appears to be a possible weakness and this has left me a little unsure about reliability.

"first select your dealer...." I will buy from Andrew @ Trustytime, so have no worries about the dealer.

$400-600 is a lot of money to spend, your collective wisdom is much appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Guys,

Sorry, but i guess this question has been asked before.. not having any luck finding the answer though.

My father in law has a Breitling Navitimer with an asian 7750 Valjoux 28.800 he bought from a respected dealer in this forum.

It is very difficult to impossible to get it to run right... it is always running to fast or to slow. A watchmaker also tried.

Now he has his eye set on a IWC Portuguese with the improved 29J version of the same asian 7750 valjoux 28.800. We are concerned that he will experience the same difficulties with this one. We can read the that this is the improved 29J version, but is this really more eliable?

Guys,

I've been trying to register on replicageek twice without success. Basically, I can go through registration forms but activation email never comes up in my mailbox. Is there still a way to do it or registration is simply not possible? I am using a hotmail address, can this be a problem? I am pretty sure it is not an issue of the activation email being filtered to junk folder as I check my junk folder regularly.

I've recently got interested in the Graham brand and would like some opinions from anyone who has, or has had, a Graham.

To be honest I'm thinking about the latest Perfect Clones version of the 2008 Oversize Chronofighter Tech Seal, but it's just so different from anything I've got, or from anything else, to be honest!

http://www.1-pc8838.com/ga10033-oversize-techseal-chronofighter-p-11057.html

I have quite a large wrist and I like big watches, so the size is not really an issue, but these things are just so freakin' out there, that I'm not 100% convinced!

I'm really intrigued by the way that they are so different and I think that's what is making me apprehensive.

I have a few other more "mainstream" watches on my wishlist, but I can't get this out of my head!

Watch Band help please

Hi Guys,

I know this might technically fall under "watch repair", but I wanted to post in the General Discussion forum so that more of the regular peeps would see this thread and my story.

So I bought this watch (http://www.amazon.co...XC/ref=pd_ybh_1) for my girl for Valentines. I knew the band wasn't the greatest in the world, but liked the face. Anyways, for some reason I thought that there would be a multitude of Michael Kors specific interchangable watch bands in the aftermarket, like there is for Panerai. But there isn't as far I as can see.

Now I do have some experience with adjusting these bands with a watch tool kit I picked up for my own watches, but I don't know a couple of things that I would like your help on, please.

-Subjectively, and in your horological and esteemed aesthetic opinion, what kind of band would you recommend that you think might best suit this watch? I am thinking white leather perhaps, or something other style that I hope you can suggest?

-Where do I source the right band. I've never ordered a replacement aftermarket band before, and don't know how to going about doing so based on the watch's specs. Are there actually Michael Kors specific replacement brands out there that I just haven't been able to find?

Thank you in advance guys (and girls? ) for your help with this. I look forward to reading your replies.

Have a great Friday!

Some things just take time

Well I promised a lightbox show some time ago.

The box was easy. Updating the collection was more challenging, mostly because of $$ both selling used and acquiring new. The most challenging part which grew and became the most ambitious was the natural wood scenery. I acquired some very nice but inexpensive pieces and have been refining my polishing technique on the lesser pieces and sides. I think I found the right combo. It takes time and a lot of hand work sanding and polishing. Its really kicking now.

The donated dead movements and parts are cleaned by the sonic cleaner, my watchmaker is trying to fix the [censored] ups he did to my pieces. Screwed up a movt and scratched the rep AR (gonna send it out anyway)

But I promise it will be worth the useless posts and time .

I hope that you will enjoy the photos and possibly become inspired to find your own photographic adventure. I found the same from members here, TTK, pugwash, and others.

Thank you for reading. That will be all for now.

But In short, Haldimann releases a watch that only has a movement, no dial or nothing.. you´r only supposed to listen to the ticking for $150.000..

Trusty Time sends me a DOA watch and I have to pay to return it?

I've been a member here for 6 years and I've bought a lot of watches. I don't post a lot, but this situation bothers me. I ordered a top-quality IWC replica from Trusty Time and it arrived DOA. The movement doesn't run at all. It seems to me the right thing to to is to send me a new one ASAP and he pays to ship it back to him. I'm not a new customer to him, I've bought from him before. I emailed him to give him a chance to make it right, I don't expect perfection and I understand problems can happen. Instead I am told to send it back, at my expense, and he will repair it. So instead of getting a new watch I get a repaired watch, delayed by weeks because of shipping back and forth, at my expense.

Does this seem right? Am I being unreasonable?

I have ordered a watch from timesshop.net it went through to a pay service called payease, which I have heard many people online say is a scam. The order status is still awaiting payment. I then ordered again, but through another payment gateway, in which i didn't put in any payment information, and now it says that that order is preparation in progress. So now I have 2 orders and I don't know if someone is going to buy all kinds of things with my credit card, and I'm not sure if I'll receive my purchase. The weird thing is I have heard that this website is legitimate on this forum and it is a trusted seller. If anyone has ordered from them I would like to know how you paid and how the payment went (any problems like mine) and if anyone could give me some advice on this problem it would be greatly appreciated.

Always wanted to go to a get together with fellow watch minded people, so had an idea combine a get together with a great sporting event and entertainment.

Liverpool Day at Aintree Racecourse brings city-inspired entertainment to the world's most famous racecourse. In addition to racing over the famous course in the John Smith's Foxhunter's Steeple Chase, the day also plays host to the feature race, the £150,000 Grade 1 Totesport Bowl.
Off-course, entertainment line-ups have in past years included a parade of the city's sporting legends, a skydive by the Red Devils, celebrity openers in Ricky Tomlinson and Ken Dodd, as well as performances by The Farm and The Bootleg Beatles not to mention a whole host of Liverpool unsigned talent performing on the Pavilion stage. What's more, Liverpool Day 2012 on Thursday 12th April promises to be bigger and better with Liverpool Band 'The Christians' announced in the line up and they will perform, some of their hits (Forgotten Town, Born Again, Ideal World, Hooverville and Words and Father) this year after racing.

Tickets are £23 from the racecourse itself.
https://salesportal.....aspx?venue=AIN

If you needed to stay over basic hotels start from £25 in liverpool city centre, of course after the races the city centre would be the place to go for a meal or for further drinks/entertainment.

No need to pay upfront for race tickets as you can pay on entry, you can sort a room using laterooms or any other room search engine.

Pointers on the Art of Sourcing Movements?

It must be an art, right? At least, if you aren't just paying top dollar for donor watches.

I see a number of "as-is" movements "for parts only" for auction. Some of these are obviously water damaged or inside badly damaged cases. Are the clean-looking ones a good risk? If a watch is running at all is that an indication that for a parts-available movement it's likely a fairly trivial operation for a watchmaker to service it and get it running well?

Or does everyone mostly avoid the obvious risks and buy donor watches which are either NOS or at any rate stated to be running well, etc.?

Thinking on Purchasing A new Sub e-mailed TimeSshop about the difference between their Submariner metal Bezel RWI Promotion (120.00) Asian 2836 movement & their Normal Site metal Bezel Sub (238.00) Asian 2824-2 movement. $138.00 difference for the same watch????? on their web-site the pictures are exactly the same for both watches.

I was told they are the same watch by Timesshop.net

I am willing to pay a little more for a watch if it is worth it. I have the 98.00 (21j) ceramic Sub from Timesshop.net (my first) feels great looks great, bracelet is very nice with clasp extension, but it has 2 markings on the back 18k & a oval etching both are small. I beleive the date magnifaction is a little weak also.

Both of the watches i'm looking at have Black Face & Black Metal Bezel. With the hollow Link Bracelet.

Witch is the better over all Purchase Quallity & Price,

Please help..Hublot Full Ceramic Skeleton Tourbillon

Hi this is my first ever post

I really want to buy a replica Hublot Full Ceramic Skeleton Tourbillon like the one in the following thread...

http://www.rwg.cc/topic/135450-23pcs-macro-shot-hublot-full-ceramic-skeleton-tourbillon/page__p__998203#entry998203

Can any of you please recommend me trusted sites or dealers i can buy this from??

I've had a look around the forums and i can't find this 'trusted dealer' list everyone seems to talk about especially for Hublots

I was going to buy from replicaster, or replicahause or jimka.eshop@gmail.com...but all feedback is mixed and some very negative

Would be very grateful for any input the RWG community can provide

Many Thanks

Your collection...

Lately I was wondering if I am the only one who has a plan for his collection in the years to come (subjected to slight changes along the way of course). Let's hear what you are planning .

Here's mine. All except the 5513 are gens. I'll probably try a 15300 in rep form prior to the gen 15202 to see how much I actually like the Royal Oak design (no good 15202 reps out there, that I am aware of). Most likely I will have both the Zenith and the Milsub within the next year. I will also buy the gen Daytona racing dial pretty soon as I fear it will be even harder to get and thus more expensive in the coming years.

Imo it's fun to dream about future acquisitions and that it actually makes sense, because you probably get distracted less and don't buy tons of watches and lose ridiculous amounts of your hard earned "watch fund" along the way. Then again my girlfriend thinks I'm totally nuts, of course...

Help - How to look after a 7750 (chrono movement)

Good people of RWG, I have recently been told that the movement in my IWC Top Gun (Asian Valjoux 7750) is knackered and needs replacing. Problems began when the watch stopped (for no reason) while on the watch winder; to overcome this I started manually handwinding the movement … This worked OK for a few weeks, until one day (whilst hand winding) the noise and feeling inside (sorry for lack of technical terminology) went from a pleasant smooth feel, to a nasty internal ‘crunching’. At this point it was game over … into the repairers, where I was handed the bad news. The joys of rep ownership eh? Boo!

So, I’ve bitten the bullet, and decided to go ahead with a brand new movement, fully serviced and pressure tested. What I now need to know is when the watch is returned to me, how I can prevent a similar situation occurring in the future?

I have heard all sorts of stuff & frankly, I don’t know what to believe (e.g. don’t change the day / date between the hours of 10-2; avoid sudden ‘jerky’ wrist movements (ha, ha!); don’t use the chrono function (which seems weird to me, as surely that’s one of the joys of chrono ownership!) etc etc.)

In short, (and I have read previous posts on the subject) … What’s the score when it comes to 7750’s? Should they be handled like spider webs or are they as robust as regular (non chrono movements)? Lets set the record straight once and for all. Look forward to hearing your comments and as always, many thanks in advance. rclough

Just thought I'd share something I've been working on in my shop...

After the thickness of the rep case has been reduced the gasket channel must be created again... only a true endmill will give it the crisp perpendicular edges necessary to create a perfect water tight fitment with the gen gaskets...

Hello guys

this is a "nervous breakdown" of my replica watch passion.. why? I tell you my experience: I started this game by buying the cheap ones. I had several quality issues: screws falling down on the typical 108$ watches.

but, as the passion was growing, the confidence too, I decided to step up to the "A grade 1:1" replicas.

and after some months with those, what happens? my Evo Hublot looses an H screw on the bezel. my secs@12 AP has movement issues and rubberclad quality issues. my 187G PAM looses parts from the bezel.

so, how is it? is this game never going to be troublefree? but mostly: are we condemned to throw in the trash every watch we buy (given in consideration that spare parts are impossible to find to fix them?)

I'm very tired of all this.. and tempted to lock them all in a drawer until I'm rich enough to buy me a gen AP and forget about all this.

cheers! (happy to read your comments..)

This is meant to be a vintage watch .. the end links are loose hollow design.. it will not have a perfect fit ..

In the past when I have ordered, once the watch left China, it hit California about 12 hours later. This one seems to have left, but never arrived. This time, I'm going on 2 1/2 days since it left China. USPS doesn't have it and the EMS doesn't say it is in customs. Is this normal, or should I be concerned?

Date Changes Early

I've noticed that the date on my watch changes early. It started with 5 min before midnight and now the date changes around 12 min before midnight, all in a matter of couple of months. It also looses around 5 sec per day, but this is consistent.
Should I be worried? Can something be done to make the watch change the date around midnight?

Pics that make you Waaaaant it!

Hi guys

Ok, so while i am pretty new to collecting Reps, i have been into watches for years.
I also love photography, and like nothing more than to take some nice shots of my incomings or collection.

So how many times have you seen a picture of a watch and thought "oh man, i NEED this watch" or " you will be mine.......oh yes, you will be mine!"

I saw this pic of a Pam 312 and just fell in love! Looks like a marketing pic, but i love it!

I also saw this pic of a Pam Radi - just look at that dial!

Looking at this pic of the caseback just makes it worse.....now i HAVE to get one!

Lastly, for me, this pic of the new JLC chrono just makes me want to rob a bank to pay for it!!!!

So there you go, pics that would make me seriously consider these (if i had the funds, of course).

Have you seen/got any pictures which would actually influence your buying decision?

Or maybe, you lusted after a specific watch, only to be put-off by horrible pics?

Let's see 'em!

'PRESTIGGIO' another didymoStrapS creation

Every strap of the PRESTIGE SERIES is characterized by its distinctive design, made from selected leather and the highest level finishes to conserve the classic design that many customers wants for their watches.

'PRESTIGGIO' is a Pre-V design strap with 1 fix and 1 float keeper and fully stitched. With 4mm thickness, is flexible and consistent enough. All handmade finishes are intended to resemble the classic Pre-Vendome design, highly appreciated by many 'paneristis' (aged brown burnished edges, vintage character, fine thread, makings between sewing and edges, marked keepers...). 'Prestiggio' straps can be customized with black, brown, natural and white thread.

A few pics...
