Paul McCartney has been relatively unique within the pop star community in that he has never, to the best of my knowledge, appeared in public wearing anything but modestly priced digital watches
However, in the past year (no doubt due to encouragement/direction from his 3rd wife, Nancy, a successful businesswoman), he seems to have changed his style for the better (he is still a vegetarian though)

Seems like a fairly modest watch for a person of his stature. I would have gone with the Nautilus in his situation.

the fact that its on his wrist just turned the cheapest Patek into a little dearer Patek at some future auction
he is obviously not that into watches, and just bought the most modest of the best brand IMO

The working class hero (ie, the other Sir Patek) returned to mechanicals back when the rest of the world was still getting into quartz/digital. Lennon was always the leader/ahead of the style pack, even in horology
